I am interested in blackstream. But before I take a call, I would like to know how easy it is to replace background graphics with plain bg color.

As easy and removing the image background and just adding bakground-color:black
You can have wider resolutions too if u dnt need background.

Is it possible to make the forum width a little wider somehow?

Also, I was about to purchase the skin via your shop, but it says 3.8.1. I take it and update is available to 3.82 after purchase?

You can increase the width of the Forum but might not correspond to background unless u change it too..
and Yes all skins are 3.8.2 i prolly missed updating inside the shop.

I really love the skin - shame the font colors arent the ones in use on this forum though ;)

You can jus change them manually to ur liking from the CSS part.. or just see the CSS used by this forum.
Customizing fonts and colors are quite easy.
